Quality control

Quality control is an essential part of activities to be followed for continuous growth in the business and productivity. It is basically the process that is to be adopted by business to enforce good quality of product. Quality of product is checked against benchmarks setup for attainment, it is achieved by training staff, testing of the product at various stages of production. These checkups are done in process of production itself, before final product is manufactured. There are various method of Quality Control that is Product Inspection and Process Inspection.

Process Quality control

Meaning

Process Quality control is a proper planned setup, in order to detect material, processes, operators, equipment’s to reduce the human error, to identify the fault or error if it is there or if it occurs, to ensure that the manufacturing process moves smoothly, it is the test that is being carried out during the process of manufacturing itself and these test are carried out rapidly. Process Quality control aims at minimizing the human error, to find the fault at the earliest if it is there or there is any possibility of its occurrence.

Objective of Process Quality control

  1. The objective of Process Quality control is monitoring all the manufacturing of product to avoid errors that could affect the quality of a product during its ongoing process.
  2. It aims at detecting variations at the earliest, checking the tolerance limit and then taking the prompt corrective action.
  3. Process Quality control involves detection of variations at the earliest and providing indication for the remedial action to be taken.
  4. In process control during manufacturing is an important step to ensure quality of the product at each stage of production.
  5. Process Quality control is aimed at providing specific an accurate description of all the procedures to be involved from the start from procurement of Raw material to the production of final product.
  6. Its procedure includes quality control check at the time when raw material enters the production house, then in process checking during the product manufacturing, then final product checking.

Why it is necessary?

  • It is required to minimize the human errors.
  • To describe accurate, definite procedure to be involved in production process.
  • To detect all the materials, equipment’s, procedure required to minimize failures.
  • To enforce the proper flow of production process.
  • To find any errors immediately.
  • To build a successful business.
  • To provide products to meet customer expectations.
  • It is required to minimize waste.
  • It Improves productivity

What are Probes?

Probing machines provide test of chip on a machine, ensuring the quality of production to ensure precision of its manufacture, proper quality assurance.

A probe is prepared to provide a touch with a equipment surface, providing accurate, repeatable data. Probes provide for data throughout the production process which ensures components remain within set up limits. In every production process the deviation and acceptance limit are set. Probes ensures the manufacturing remains in conformance limits.

Renishaw company provides for probes solutions. Probes installation with the equipment helps in detection of any errors or faults, it also provides for basic equipment setting without any failures of errors, process detection of errors. Probes provides for detection of early errors and saving cost by eliminating errors at the earliest

Its advantages

1. Less human involvement and keeps the work highly automated

Probes helps in reduces human involvement and keeps the work highly automated. By this facility workers can keep focus on new work processes rather than concentrating on errors in the manufacturing process. Skilled workers involvement in checking machines will increase the cost of production. Staff can be involved in doing other important production tasks.

2. Probes saves lot of money and reduces cost

It is the investment made in all the machining processes to detect errors at the earliest. Renishaw Company provides for this probing system. Its installment reduces manual errors, increases company profits and this probing system improves production flow. Installment of probes reduces machine downtime taken for its repairs.

3. Reduces component scrapping and reduces rework

Probes investment reduces reduce rework to be done on the same work. Scrapping task leads to wastage of time and effort. Doing the same work again and again involves lot of time and task delays. If a company can reduce such costs it can increases overall productivity and profitability.

4. Increasing productivity /Output from existing machineries

Probes helps as it help in detecting errors at the earliest .If in any of the manufacturing work, machine repairs will be less than it can carry out more flow of its output.  It reduces scrapping of components and its deterioration from its manual shifting from one place to another.

5. Increasing the capability and increasing productivity

Probes investment increases the capacity of machines and hence leads to more output. There is high demand of good quality products in the market, and with the installation of probes with the equipment the errors are minimum, productivity at its maximum, hence meeting the growing competition in the market by providing better quality products at maximum output.

Conclusion

Probes investment is a time saving tool. Lot of time will be saved by manufacturing companies by investing in Probes as it provide for early detection of errors in ongoing production process which leads to avoiding failures, minimizing errors, providing for efficient flow of output with more productivity. It saves time of customers as well by meeting their product requirements as and when they require. There are lots of techniques and methods to check the product quality after its production and then taking corrective action but that involves lots of money and efforts in wastage that would occur if product is not as per requirement. In process quality control helps in detection of failures, if could be at the earliest doing inspection in work in progress, to provide for flow of activity.

Installation of probes on the machine provides numerous advantages. It is setting up of tool to give proper measurement for machine setting. It helps in giving consistent flow of output with adequate quality. This probing system is being used by many small and large shops and production companies which helps in saving their significant amount of time, probes provide for automatic error detection and eliminating all the manual errors. Scraping of machines is reduced to large extent and hence saving repair and maintenance cost.
